When I look up Into the Night Sky

When I look up Into the Night Sky

When I look up Into the Night Sky Banner
When I look up Into the Night Sky

When I look up
Into the Night Sky
I see a lot of stars
During the day
They all go away
do they watch me?
or are they asleep?
or they too are Insomniacs
Gazing at me…

When I look up
Into the Night Sky
I see a lot of stars
Are they a sign
of Endless hope?
Or will the darkness
Engulf them all
one by one?

When I look up
Into the Night Sky
I see a lot of stars
And
I see a lot of darkness
Each one of them
fighting its own battle
some emit light
some loan it
but they keep their
Fight on
Against the Darkness

When I look up
Into the Night Sky
I see a lot of stars
I see a lot of Familiar faces
sometimes they see
the Same me
sometimes a strange me
but they Never turn
their eye away

When I look up
Into the Night Sky
I see a lot of stars
to them we are the same
we are just a Speck in time
Or maybe
to them there is no time
We are, we were, we will be
just the Same
like They are to us

When I look up
Into the Night Sky
I see a lot of stars
do they look at us too?
I wonder
what do they wonder?
did they keep me here
to look at them?

When I look up
Into the Night Sky
I see a lot of stars
do I know them?
do they know me?
they have Heard
so many of my Prayers
they have Seen me
Evolve everyday
to them
I am Naked

When I look up
Into the Night Sky
I see a lot of stars
I wonder
how did they become stars?
If I keep looking at them
will I become one?
Or is it just an illusion…

That’s so beautifully written. We hardly think any deeper than ‘twinkle twinkle little star!’ Some of your lines are worth pondering like “do they look at us too?”
Also, that sketch on your header looks cool 😎

When I look up into the night sky, it just amazes me…
The limitless canvas, to which I stare in awe, and I wonder about the world out there…
May be a similar world from where someone’s looking at all of us with their telescopes for study about species called humans.
Am I being watched?, Am I being observed? or I’m just one speck of dust in this vast universe.

Beautiful poem, that makes me travel from my childhood memories of gazing stars from terrace and to this day when I wonder and think about infinity and vastness.
The words like – they have seen me evolve every day, they keep their fight on against darkness, or its just my illusion… have deep thoughts to it.

  8. Pooja says:

Manas, now I know this form of poetry is called a Refrain. Beautifully penned..loved it. My favourite was the paragraph where stars are fighting their own battle.

Away from the chaos of city
    Beneath the starry Sky
    Childhood once again visited
When I connected the sparkling dots and drew animals on the canvas of black Sky

    • Manas Mukul says:
