Taking a moment to say Goodbye

Taking a moment to say Goodbye – to whomsoever it may concern.

Taking a moment to say goodbye banner

I don’t like to lose people
Nobody likes to,
But sadly we end up losing
sometimes cause of our own actions
and sometimes for causes unknown

Now, every year, Papa’s birthday
with all the happy memories
and celebrations,
It is a constant reminder
of sorrow, loss and longing.

At the same time, it is a painful reminder
of what all we couldn’t say to each other
before he left
We couldn’t get a moment
to bid a proper goodbye.

Every bond that breaks…
Breaks me a little
Everyone who goes away takes a part of me with them
If you have meant something to me,
You for sure would take away your part.

Irrespective of the amount of time we have shared together
If, at one point of time we were talking, or were together,
or for some reason aren’t in talking terms now
then I just want you to know that
I don’t have hard feelings for you.

I never kept any animosity or enmity with you
nor do I ever wish to.

There must be some reason that we might have drifted ways
The reason may be any
The reason may be justified or not
But it is the thing that we didn’t take that moment to bid goodbye to each other.

I just want to take this moment
to formally bid goodbye to you and our bond.
I don’t want and can’t live with more unsaid goodbyes.
The weight is crushing and becoming unbearable.

Just to put it out there,
whatever we have shared
will be forever safe with me.

Rest I only wish you the best of everything in all your pursuits.
May you continue to rise and shine and achieve greater heights.

The times shared with you will forever be special till whatever time I have.
Heartfelt Gratitude for allowing me to be a small part of your life.

When we meet, it is for a reason and I would like to believe when we drift apart it should also be. Even if the benefit is yours and one-sided. Nobody gets into a bond or relationship thinking about a breakup, likewise nobody goes for a marriage thinking of a divorce but things eventually turn out as they were meant to be.

The bigger thing which I want to highlight is no matter whatever the situation, no matter how bitter the circumstances, take that moment to say goodbye. We all have that someone in our lives about whom we are left heartbroken that we couldn’t say goodbye when we had time. You never know which one of the moments is going to be the last.

I may not be able to personally reach out to everyone as some of you may be intentionally staying away without me ever realising it and hence I would like to take this as an opportunity to humbly apologise if any of my actions or words have ever caused you hurt or pain in any sense or manner. It shouldn’t have happened

Quoting from the unforgettable scene from the movie ‘Life of Pie’ – “In the end the whole of life becomes an act of letting go, but what always hurts the most is not taking a moment to say Goodbye.”

We never get a chance to thank our parents and sadly no amount of words or tributes post that can have the same effect.

Unlike all my previous posts this won’t end with the customary ‘For all those…’ kind of end as this one is actually about taking a moment to say goodbye.

If you ever would want to chat, talk or meet me – you know my whereabouts.

Stay safe. Stay content. Stay blessed.

Love. Hugs. Cheers.

Goodbyes are never easy. Goodbye buddy.

Note – this may sound like one attention seeking post but it is not. Just taking a moment to say goodbye. \

Agree, nobody knows when that last goodBye is…
May be your dad never wanted to say bye, as his part still stays in you forever.

  4. It is a very heart touching Post and how true we do not get to say goodbyes . But will it hurt less if we get to say them? May be no … may be yes !
