A one-week immersive poetry workshop exploring a range of short poetic forms

Soul Craft is a venture by Manas Mukul and Namratha Varadharajan to hold space for poetic development.

Since August, 2021, team Soul Craft has run multiple successful poetry workshops in which the participants have created 400+ poems. The eagerness expressed by participants to explore popular short poetic forms, has prompted us to curate this Short Poetic Forms Workshop.

Who is this workshop for? 

This workshop is designed for poets who want to work on short poetic forms and try their hand at various structures. 


Dates for Soul Craft Short Poetic Forms Workshop  

The workshop will begin on Saturday, 28th May 2022 and will be completed in one week by 4th June 2022.


What is the structure of the workshop?

May 28th: An immersive 2-hour Zoom session including a live writing session (Timing at 6:00 p.m IST tentatively)

May 28th to Jun 3rd: Reading, writing and exploring a range of short poetic forms

Jun 4th: Discussion and feedback Zoom session (Timing at 6:00 p.m IST tentatively)

Soul Craft Short Poetic Forms Workshop Manas Dp

Manas Mukul takes on the role of a software engineer, a business consultant, a theatre artist, a dancer, a sportsperson and a cook on different days, but is a writer and a storyteller every day. He befriended the pen about 12 years back and since then there has been no looking back. He publishes his work at ‘The Contemplation Of A Joker’. Now, a full time writer/poet, he published his first poetry book, ‘You, Me & The Universe’ last year. He has mentored 250+ upcoming authors and bloggers in their journeys. He is a facilitator at Soul Craft Poetry Workshop since its conception.

Namratha Varadharajan stumbled into the magical rabbit hole of writing when she paused her career in engineering to indulge in motherhood. She writes poems that explore human emotions and relationships, our interconnectedness with nature and tries to chip at the prejudices that plague us, one syllable at a time. Her work has been published or forthcoming in The Yearbook of Indian Poetry 2021, The Gulmohar Quarterly, The Alipore Post, The Kali Project, HaikuKATHA, Poetry Pea, among others. She was the runner-up at Beyond the Box Spoken Word Poetry contest 2022 and a finalist at The Orange Flower Awards 2022. She writes at http://namysaysso.com
