She can be Forever #TheWomanThatIAm #RRxMM
She can be Forever #TheWomanThatIAm #RRxMM
A small poetic tribute to Womanhood
She can be just a moment
And then She can be Forever
She can be your Words,
She can be your Sight,
She can be your Sword,
And then she can be your Flight…
She can be the infidel Fun,
She can be the loyal Skeleton,
She can be the darkness of Black hole,
And then She can be the lines of Fortune…
She can be the pink every Day,
She can be the blue once a Week,
She can be the red once a Month,
And then She can be the rainbow Forever…
She can be your unquenched Lust,
She can be your unrequited Love,
She can be the twist of Tyranny,
And then She can be the fulfilled Destiny…

She can be the scattered Clouds,
She can be the untamed Storm,
She can be not yours this Time,
And then She can be yours each Lifetime…
She can be the sweet Heart,
She can be the bitter Heartbreak,
She can be an astute Mind,
And then She can be the divine Soul…
She can be the chaotic Noise,
She can be the flute of Life,
She can be many inane Questions,
And then She can be all your Answers…
She can be a venomous Snake,
She can be a chirpy Bird,
She can be a fearless Lioness,
And then she can be your first second third…
She can be a granule of Sand,
She can be the entire Desert,
She can just be an Atom,
And then She can be the entire Univerrse…
She can be the Blindness,
She can be the Vision,
She can be the Destruction,
And then She can be the Motivation…
She can be the coldest Iceberg,
She can be the glaring Sun,
She can be the ever loving Daughter,
And then She can be the daring Son.
She can be the first Date,
She can be the last Mate,
She can be the season of Hate,
And then She can be your only Soulmate…
She can be the ageless Madonna,
She can be the mesmerizing Diana,
She can be the friendly Merissa,
And then she can be the Mother Teresa…
She can be the flower of Youth,
She can be the shower of Love,
She can just be a moment,
And then She can be Forever…
A small appreciation for the women of my life

A man is the summation of all the women he meets, greets and lives with throughout his life. If not for a mother’s amniotic fluid and blood, he would never take form. If she doesn’t feed him, he might not survive. If it is not for a sister one would never understand the joy of losing a fight…if it is not for a lover one would never understand the meaning of a soulmate. If it is not for a wife then one would never understand the meaning of an organised home and if it is not for a daughter one would never experience the supreme form of happiness.
If it was not for my mother, I wouldn’t have been there. I was born dead…but I believe that the only thing that got me back was my mother’s unflinching trust and faith in that almighty superpower.
She has been the perfect inspiration, been the ideal role model. Her innumerable and immeasurable sacrifices has been an example for how to let go…how to just focus on deeds without expecting anything in return. She is a Phd. and yet she sacrificed a fruitful career for the fruits she bore. She let go of her present so that we can have a better future.

Her discipline and hard work taught us the real meaning of those words. She still reads more than me. She has more educational degrees than all my siblings combined together and somehow still manages to stay rooted.
She taught us during our school days more than our teachers and I feel that’s the reason why I can write. She scolded me, may be, more than required, but today I realise that always was meant to keep me in check.

There is no word that I write that doesn’t go through the scanning eyes of my sister. I dread her but still I can’t live without her feedback. We can’t literally stay quiet sitting in a room together but the heart always longs to be around her. She is the reality check to my self-obsessed egg-head.
Since this is a tribute, would love to thank all the female friends I bonded with over the years, who are all beautiful in their own unique way. For they taught me how to behave when around a lady. They took away my inhibition and being with them gave me so much self-confidence. If it was not for those heartbreaks, I would have never learnt some wonderful lessons.
Even this and the previous blog hop wouldn’t have been possible without a woman. My co-host’s super effort instilled confidence in me that we too can take on this humongous task.
If I continue writing on every woman that I know, I am sure will end up writing till the end of the hop but the post won’t be complete. The Man that I am is because of all the Women of my life.
Manas ‘Sameer’ Mukul
“This post is a part of ‘The Woman That I Am’ Blog Hop #TheWomanThatIAm organized by Rashi Roy and Manas Mukul #RRxMM. The Event is sponsored by Kraffitti.”

Loved the poem and it really seems as if you have poured your heart out. While we all mostly do let our mums know in some or the other way, what they mean to us, our sisters and maybe many other women in our lives go by unsung. I love what you wrote about your sister and because I have a younger one i can mirror a lot of feelings. A big virtual hug to all 3 of you, especially to Bitti, who seems like my own.
Thank you so much for loving the poem…It was a tribute to all womanhood…If you are like Bitti then we should definitely meet 🙂

Wonderful thoughts and in rhyme! Though I have my reservations about men only acknowledging women in relation to them and not otherwise but I shall keep that debate for another time and space.
Three cheers to all the amazing women who have shaped you as a person and as a poet.
Thank you so much Pooja for your comment. The poem was an effort to acknowledge all womanhood and every woman. The small writeup was just a gesture for the ones that I could acknowledge right now…otherwise I could end up writing till the end of the hop… 😀 😀

Wow ! Such an amazing poem ! And what a beautifully written post …your mom and sister must be all smiles today !!! I just loved it. This deserves a standing ovation. As a woman even I’ve never thought so deeply to the multitude of roles we play. But you’ve touched each aspect of a woman in a man’s life with so much reverence. Well done Manas.
Thank you so much Ruchi ji…coming from you it is special… I am glad a man was able to see and witness so many roles.. 😀 Waiting for your post 🙂

I am sure if your mother and sister read this post, they will be the happiest persons today. Please do share your work with them.
Sisters are the first person – a guy usually turns into joy and tragedy. She’s the rock required to get through a crisis, the laughter needed on a terrible day, and the perfect friend to share anything. Even more, sister is responsible for helping you be the person you are today along with your mom.
Mothers are the glue that holds a family together because it is up to them to provide the loving care and support needed by children and your mom has been awesome! No doubt Parenting is a team effort, but I find mothers to be the spine of this team work. I believe mothers – are THE most important person in a person’s life. Always follow your “mothers’ instincts” because they are our true knights in shining armours!
Thank you so much for liking the post Romila ji. Yes if you read it carefully no word escapes my sister’s eyes…she has already read and I am sure she must grinning wide 😀

Perhaps the inspiration I wanted for today. You nailed it. The vastness of roles that a woman plays in our life is captured wonderfully. Sometimes she is invisible but she is the one who runs everything and makes it possible for us to live our lives.
So true…
She can be invisible and then she can be omnipresent too..
I am glad the write up could inspire you.
Thanks.
#RRxMM #TheWomanThatIAm

This is such a heart-felt post. The vocab and the emotions are completely in sync. It speaks volumes about you as a person and obviously about the women. Moms are the best, I agree to that. You have covered various aspects in your verse, the environment, animals, colours… What not!!! And the write-up. Just when I thought the poem is ending, I felt like a vacuum and voilà a wonderful write-up on how the women shaped you as a person.
Kudos to your mother. You are because she is!

Well, so much has already been appreciated about this “Masterpiece” that I fall short of words to describe my feelings for this one. It is an authentic, colourful, wholesomely summed up version of how every women has the same essence but are so different in their own unique ways. The flow of your words also show us how you donot just keep women in your life up at the pedestal for one day in the year ‘women’s day’ but it is a round the life i.e. the very reason for your existence. Cheers. Keep this coming.
I am glad that it could strike a chord with you. Thank you so much for appreciating the write up.
#RRxMM #TheWomanThatIAm
