My Tiffu – UMeU #UMeUBlogHop

My Tiffu - UMeU
My Tiffu – UMeU

With your tiny velvety paws
You entered into my life,
It took you an effort
To         b up the low, rustic porch
          m
         i
       l
     c
And clear all that strife.

And soon you were
J   m   i    g
u    p   n     up and down the road,
Splashing and playing with water
Like a full grown Toad.

With those cute puppy eyes
You would listen to me—
Without even saying a word
You would take care of me.

                          g
With that wag  i  g tail,
                             n
You would answer to my confusing tale
Every time I needed you,
You were there without fail.

What’s true love?
Every time someone would ask,
Earlier, I would fumble to answer
But then,
Would show them your face…

You have seen my tears
And witnessed my fears
T i p toeing, You would come
and sit next to me,
Just letting me know
That you are here for me.

Then one cruel day
You br o ke your promise,
Went a w  a    y      and       ahead
                               In a far away place
A beautiful place in the Universe

Now that you lay
Six feet u
              n
              d
              e
              r
I have planted
your favourite plant atop
Will watch you grow everyday
Till I finally Slllleeeepppp
Next to where you lay.

They wondrously promise me,
There is a calm and crystalline heaven,
But all I need is— You
For you were my safest Haven.

Heaven is a nullity, if there is one,
Till the time you were here
I can say I experienced one.
Your presence, Your Love
Made this world breathable,
Now that you are gone
It’s again back to being unbearable.

You were born in another form
But don’t worry
I promise!
If there is another lifetime,
We both would come back
In the same form
To love each other
And create the most melodious chime…🎼

You were the apple of everyone’s eye
You played fetch and we followed,
I will not mourn your death
For You loved celebration
And we will celebrate…

With that affectionate heart of yours
Which was purer than Pure
You were better than others—
(Anyone who could speak)
For you were the one
Who could listen to
My words and my silence too

In another Universe
In a picturesque hue
All there will be
YoU Me and YoU
O! My Tiffu
I will   f o  r   e    v     e      r
                                              LOVE YOU…

  3. I have been a dog-lover all my life. Growing up, I had two dogs at different stages of my life and losing them was the worst punishment God gave me. Your poem brought back memories and tears welled up in my eyes while reading it. Especially the way you wrote U-N-D-E-R it just stabbed me in the heart. Keep writing and touching souls with your words. May Maa Saraswati keep blessing you.

    • Manas Mukul says:

Losing a pet especially a dog is one of the most painful experiences. They give so much love without expecting anything in return. Glad that you could connect to the emotions. Means a lot. Thank you for the wishes 😊🙌🏽🙏🏽

  4. Neha Jain says:

It’s good to know your Tiffu like this. I can’t express my joy after seeing the pic in your blog which replicates one of my finest memories with my dog Kalu. I lost him too many years back.

    • Manas Mukul says:

Thank you so much. She loved playing with flowers, birds and nature. I am sure Kalu was equally amazing. 😊👍🏽

  5. Roma says:

You made me miss my John and Maggi Manas. My childhood was so full of their love, I can never forget them, it felt as if you have weaved my feelings in words here except for I don’t have a tree planted where they were buried.

    • Manas Mukul says:

I am glad that you could relate to the emotions. She loved playing with plants especially when we would water them… So planted one there. I try to visit her every possible day 😊🤗👍🏽

  6. I made my daughter read this and we both had teary eyes. We never had a pet but I know the kind of bond they have. Love the way you have written expressing each word with emotional and visual impact. You have raised the bar so high that I need to pull up my socks.. Haha..

    • Manas Mukul says:

Oh wow, making her read is the best thing that happened today. This is in itself a big praise. I have just tried. I write with simple words so Jo thoda bahut ho pata hai. I am sure yours would be amazing. Eagerly awaiting. 😊🤗👍🏽

  7. Endearing and heartwarming account, summed up beautifully in words. I especially loved the play of alphabets in the poem, made it visually appealing as well as soul touching. Made the phrase, “mans best friend” ring true.

    • Manas Mukul says:

Sometimes I feel humans would start losing out on certain emotions if it were not for animals. Thank you so much for appreciating. This means a lot. 😊😊👍🏽👍🏽

  8. Ira Mishra says:

I never had any pet. But this poem made me want to have one. Loved the lines which said where he lay and the favorite plant that you would always see bloom over him. I guess like you are watching over him he is also watching you through the favourite blooming plant of his 😊

    • Manas Mukul says:

The plant was my way of keeping her alive. Her life and her soul will keep on spreading the goodness through the plant. I am happy that though you aren’t a pet person the words could reach out to you. Thank you so much Ira ji 😊🙂👍🏽

  9. Rashi Roy says:

That’s a beautiful poem to start this hop. Your emotions are very well expressed and the way you have emphasized certain words, it’s touching the heart straight away. I could visualize climb, jumping, wagging and the words that brought tears were away, forever, under & sleep. Am a little emotional reading this because it made me miss the pets I had in my life, Jimmy, Tiger, Goldy and Mithu. I lost them all too soon. Lots of love to Tiffu. I remember how she would quitely sit and then look with her puppy eyes. She’s still there, watching. Hugs

    • Manas Mukul says:

Thank you so much for this heartfelt comment. You have seen a lot of her and you know how much she was a part of my life. Wherever I would go she was with me. Thank you again 🙂👍🏽

      • Rashi Roy says:

Yes and am glad I’ve seen a lot of her. That makes me miss her too. She was so much a part of our conversation. She reminded me of my Jimmy! He wouldn’t leave me alone at all. We are blessed to have received so much love from these pure souls.

  10. “Heaven is a nullity, if there is one,
Till the time you were here
I can say I experienced one.”

The entire poem made me emotional. But the above lines … I can only say that one is blessed to experience such warmth in a life time ! Glad that you and Tiffany went through this experience in this lifetime. I am sure you both would meet each other , someday in some life time! I loved the poem ! It’s heartwarming and a very evocative one.

  11. Such a beautiful heart touching poem. Dogs (I don’t like calling them that) are the most amazing creatures. They detect even the slightest change in you, physical or mental. I got all teary eyed reading this and kept thinking of Oreo.
Lovely tribute to your dearest friend
    Much love
    Deepika

    • Manas Mukul says:

I too don’t like calling them that but kya kare… I know how much you love Oreo and how much Oreo loves you back. I remember the sratches in the door when you were sick. They are the best thing that can happen to a human. I am glad the poem reached out. 😊🙂👍🏽

  12. Shalini Samnol says:

Amazing emotional piece… loved the visual patterns …can almost visualise the wagging climbing jumping happening

    • Manas Mukul says:

Thank you so much Shalini ji for the appreciation 🤗😊👍🏽

      • Shalini Samnil says:

Calls for all the appreciation … such vivid portrayal of imagery but what steals the show is the relationship showcased implicitly…. A subtle presentation of an affable bond…and to strengthen it all the symbolism of a plant seals the bond forever

Tiffany must be smiling to get such an ode

  13. Pr@Gun says:

Remembering you is easy, it’s part of my everyday
Missing you is the heartache that never goes away.

Such a heartwarming beginning to this poetry hop with your emotional tribute to Tiffany.
No wonder she truly seems manifestation of god with sparkling eyes.
I loved the visual effects of words – climb, wagging, jumping, forever & under. It added a different feel while reading the poem.
Your bond with her is so well expressed in these verses, no wonder you miss her a lot.
I feel writing down such feelings help to heal the broken heart too.

    • Manas Mukul says:

These lines perfectly summarise my emotions. I could have doubled the lines and still wouldn’t have truly expressed what all I feel for her. Thank you so much for these heartfelt words. 😊🤗👍🏽

  14. Pri says:

A beautiful dedication to your four legged friend. You two seemed to have a special bond. It’s true, the love of a pet is truly unconditional and deserves every bit of love it can get.

    • Manas Mukul says:

Yeah it was truly special. Thank you so much for the appreciation Priyanka ji. Means a lot 😊👍🏽

  15. Archana says:

What a lovely tribute to Tiffu, the strong bond you both have shared is well expressed by you Manas! Reading it really left me teary eyes. And the wiggling alphabets took the emotions a notch above! I am not a pet lover but yes I have to admit that I had my best experience with my dog Bravo in Allahabad, in just 1 and half year of living with him first time made me understand the depth of pure, and loyal affection by these species. Honestly we humans are impossible to match their level when it comes to serve something unconditionally.

Such a touching poem. Wonderfully expressed & great tribute.
Yes, there’s another life and we do meet loved ones again.
Have watched a couple of movies where the loving pet dog comes to be with his master’s family.
    Celebration, it is.

Love the way you have placed the letters of the words to show action.

I never had a pet. For years I have read/heard how pets are amazing companions. And after reading and re-reading your poem as you pour out our love of Tiffany I was deeply touched Manas. You experienced an incredible bond with your four legged friend. Not to forget your unique play with wriggly words.

Wonderful start of this blog hop.

    • Manas Mukul says:

They are the best companions. I doubt anyone can love a human more than a dog. They don’t even love themselves that much. Thank you so much for appreciating the piece. Means a lot.

  24. Abha Singh says:

Beautiful poem Manas full of emotions and pure love. I can feel the kind of bond you two have shared. Pets especially dogs are so loyal, they silently watch us to grow and deal with all kinds of situations. They always try to console, staring at you as if saying that I am there for you. I can understand loosing a pet can be really really tough. That’s a beautiful poetic tribute to your Tiffu.

    • Manas Mukul says:

Thank you so much Abha ji. I believe if one needs to learn compassion they should do it from dogs and hence you would see kids growing around dogs develop these virtues. I am glad you loved the poem. Thanks for being a part of this journey 🤗🤗😊😊👍🏽👍🏽

  25. MeenalSonal says:

It is said love has no language it is expressed in eyes. This holds so true to look at your bond with Tiffany, each stanza in the poetry made a deep connection with the reader. Also really liked the word placing play to added in the poem that gave the poem all the 3D look too.

    • Manas Mukul says:

You have beautifully portrayed the relationship, the bonding. Sometimes words are not required to win someone’s heart and your Tiffu has proven that. I am sure she is resting in peace with all the golden memories she had with you. The play of alphabets in your poem was remarkable. It made my heart dance.
