Deep under the Warmth of that Blanket

Deep Under the warmth of that blanket

Deep under the warmth of that blanket - poem

On that foggy winter morning,
Deep under the warmth of that blanket,
When you Whispered into my ear,
Lying on the left shoulder,
Where you would sleep for long hours,
You owned a part of me,
A part of me became Yours forever,
If I would have been a piece of land,
Then this shoulder would have been,
On your name,
Forever,
Deep under the warmth of that blanket…

When you shared all the secrets,
When you bared your soul,
When no inhibitions were left,
You made me your own,
I know you don’t want to remember that moment,
You felt trapped in my words,
You felt weak wrapped in my shoulders,
That’s my loss, that’s my failure,
Deep under the warmth of that blanket…

But trust me,
There was no web,
There was no trap,
I was weak too,
I felt trapped too,
Up until that moment,
When you became mine,
And I became yours,
It was love that trapped both of us,
It was the universe that tricked us,
It was a conspiracy of the creator,
Deep under the warmth of that blanket…

Just remember,
You don’t have to stay,
Any moment you can walk away,
I will not complain,
I will never stop,
No matter how much it may pain,
Will just keep lying there,
Alone,
Waiting for you,
Counting my last in your fragrance,
Deep under the warmth of that blanket…

You might be forty,
I might be thirty-five,
I might be thirty,
You might be twenty-five,
How does that even matter,
Does love age,
Does love has an age,
And even if it has,
It is just born,
And will outlive us all,
Deep under the warmth of that blanket…

The lines of our fortune,
Are like the ripples of the Bedsheet,
that we are lying on,
They will go away,
The moment we get up,
From this fairy sleep,
And we will together create,
Our lines of fortune,
Deep under the warmth of that blanket…

  6. Shalzz says:

Ah, so beautiful. I cold actually envision the whole thing in my head. And I guess, that is where the success of a poet is? My favorite line would be – does love age, does true love have an age! 🙂

This was beautiful. The emotions have come out in the purest form. The choice of words, the flow, the feeling, everything is just perfect. Keep writing these straight from the heart poems.

This is the best part about remaining single…the emotions remain pure…haha…just kidding. Thank you so much for loving it and being such a constant support. Cheers. hugs.

  8. Lovely poem and the oozing out of feelings made it really heartfelt. The longing & the solitude shades were deeply embedded in the beautiful poem and it resonated all the heartfelt emotions. Manasji , keep creating more such moving & sentimental pieces!!

What mind-blowing & touching poetry this is, Manas. You’re an extra0rdinary player of words who uses the simplest of words to convey the most complex emotions like nobody.
